Spring is here! Flowers are blooming, kids are playing outside, and things are slowly starting to get back to normal for us (although we do have a new “normal” with an infant in the house!). Throughout April, we’ll be collecting books for our Children’s Day/Book Day (El Día De Los Niños/El Día De Los Libros) event, which will be May 1st. If you’d like to help out with that, please let us know! We ask that books be in English, however, baby and pre-school age books can be in Spanish or bi-lingual. This helps our non-English-speaking parents read with their young children. And when donating books, please don’t forget our 6th-12th grade students! In addition, that begins our season of Monday Evening Meals. Yes, it’s basically 1 month away! And we DEFINITELY need your help providing food for our neighbors. By providing the food for our Monday meals, you help give us the extra time to spend talking and sharing with our neighbors, so that we can catch up with them regularly and know how things are going with them. Serving is helpful as well, if you can. We are excited to have the opportunity to partner with our friends in this endeavor again! Thank you for all that you do! Signup for meals is below:
And finally, if you have a green thumb, or even if you don’t, we could use your help in the garden this year. Our garden is essential to helping with neighborhood meals as well. We also give extra produce to our neighbors who may need it. Please contact us (info at anthonysplot.org) if you can help. If you can only pull a few weeds or water the garden one day, that’s fine! It’s the little things that help out big in the long term!
