Children’s Day/Book Day (El Día De Los Niños/El Día De Los Libros)

The tradition of Children’s Day/Book Day comes from Mexico to honor the kids of the community and encourage a love to read.  We begin with dinner outside and then transition into Trinity Moravian Church, where the kids have some entertainment, a project (like making their own book), and the chance to “purchase” books with tickets they are given.  It’s always a lot of fun.  We collect books in March and April for the event.
